ZOROBABEL~from my album ZOROBABEL!

ZOROBABEL~from my album ZOROBABEL!

Good day to you my friends! Today is daylight savings…. and I get an extra hour!!!

I woke up to fresh fallen snow, covering all the trees! So like a fairy land!!

When I wrote ZOROBABEL- the title song for this album, I was going through many difficulties. What struck me was the story of Zorobabel. He was an ordinary man, actually making idols for the local people to buy. He was happy, just living life, making a wage.

He didn’t plan his future, but God spoke to him to build a new temple. Now Solomon’s temple was very elaborate, very posh, high society. God directed him to build a much smaller, plain temple. He did listen and started to work on it, but as things can go, he was met with great opposition, and it sat for some time.

No one wanted such a plain looking temple, but it was God’s blue-print.

Finally the temple was built and great things took place.

Zorobabel was an ordinary man, and that was something that struck me, ordinary people can do amazing things with God’s power.

We recorded this song, and we were finishing it up. We listened to it and it made you cry. The way we had captured some really beautiful sounds. It was so well done.

But something happened, and it disappeared, the original version.

We never did find it or have an explanation, and so the version that is on the album, ZOROBABEL, is what we could put together as the album was getting ready to send to make CD’s.

By the way, I have extra CD’s if you are interested. You can see what is in the inside cover…

The front cover, I painted and also used mixed media, putting our drummer at the time on the front.

I used to get people assuming I was the drummer!! So my picture is on the inside! Ha!

So …I hope you take a moment to listen to the story told of the power of an ordinary man. Be encouraged in your life, that YOU do Matter and can make a difference in your world!

So much love to you! And many new tunes ahead!!

Rachel 🙂
