Wild Rose

Who does water, fill your cup?

Who tends to weed

Who fills you up?

But still doth open, bloom of divine

Sweet scent of you

And only thine.

#Colors 3:52

Good beautiful evening! I hope your day went really well! I have to say it’s a really beautiful time of year and all of the sunshine leaves you smiling!

Today I was in town working on a project when we ran into our former drummer of The Best of Zest vol. 1&2. We haven’t seen much of each other lately. Life gets like that and band members have seen a great deal of one another for a long period of time. It was great to see him again and he pulled over to talk to us. More like a family it becomes when one is working with members for several years. He asked how is everything going,ย  and wondered about the music. He was recruited to a blues band that plays in a local venue when I had gone back to school. He misses us and would like to play with us again. I feel really happy that our relationship is still in good condition. I feel really honored to have this kind of legacy with him and Ray. Michael wrote the lyrics for the song Colors. They are brilliant lyrics. I sat down at the piano one day and wrote the music and sang it to the guys. They loved it and we made a song! For me, the journey is still full of mystery, promise and so many new and exciting opportunities. It was my privilege to take Michael’s beautiful poem and put it to music. Now it can fly!

Today is a rich day as I have been working on my new show and I am so very excited to share it with YOU!

I wish you a very wonderful weekend!

for now, love and music!

Thoroughfare

Pathways find an ebb and flow

Sometimes struggle, is what we know

To fumble, plunge

The path to go

To find our way

The ebb and flow

Dance with Me!

Dance with me, trees

One, two, three

Up and stand seeds

On your knees

Breathe into the outesphere

And feel the wind

And Dance with Me!

On the Verge

Good afternoon! As I anticipate all these great ideas coming to bloom I know that the ground work is just that…work! Then the magic happens! I realize on my journey that it is the journey that is important. To find the good in each day and relish it. To not look back but keep on moving forwards;ย  eventually it all makes sense. It all has a rhythm and reason and fits into the Universal puzzle just like it should. Yesterday I watched the Canadian geese swim with their great brood of chicks and took that moment and there are so many others in a day when one looks for them. To discover that happy balance of enjoying each day, the good the slow the mundane all have something to treasure if I look with my eyes open. On the music side of things I have sent a few of my tunes to a fellow musician who is working on them for me. I’m really excited about this. I play my guitar but he also can take a nice lead part . It will be very beautiful:-) I am anticipating all of these great new creations coming but also enjoying the journey! I don’t want to miss meeting with awesome people and sharing in the moments life has to offer us! I am so looking forward! I wish you a beautiful day:-) for now, Rachel!

Happy MOther’s Day!!

I remember her, busy in the kitchen or busy at her desk working..or spending time with my Dad,..or fighting a headache. My Mom. Sensitive, behind the scenes artist. My Mom wrote music and poetry and sang so beautifully but who knew? She was too nervous to sing in front of a crowd, too sensitive for that. But my Mom is brilliant and full of wisdom. Thank YOU MOM for the music you have passed onto me, for your brilliant insights and beauty! Happy Mother’s Day!! ๐Ÿ™‚

A Musical Evening!

Good evening to you! I just finished working on music with an artist that is very talented. It is interesting how paths cross and meet and the storms inbetween..Like a paper airplane flying in the wind that meets an undercurrent or two. There is definitely a mystery to music. My friend has a story, and I hope that his pages are now written in the black not red. The very thing he loved almost destroyed him, but it doesn’t have to be the next chapter can be written in black. Some gifts are too big to hold onto, and just must be shared and take their own wings. I just wanted to tell you that it felt really great to get somewhere tonight musically. I look forward to the future! As evening begins to settle in, the sun feels fresh and warm on my face . Have a really wonderful evening! ๐Ÿ™‚ for now, Rachel

They made an impression

There they were, he with his limp and her with her speech troubles and crooked grin. Simple people, sometimes he pushed her in her wheel chair, sometimes she walked with a difficulty. There they were, always one with the other. Grey hair speckledย  the tops of their heads like a crown on top jeweling two hearty grins. He had never learned to read or write, he told me, he used his memory, came from a large family. I wondered more about his history. She half cripple but smart. She understood. If it was true, she spoke it. Teenage sweethearts, never an ambition, just living in the every day, in love, together. It was their place to be, to live, to love each other. And they did it so well.ย  It was their place to be and they made an impression.

#By The Fire #10 Zorobabel

I came about writing By the Fire at a time when my world was turned upside down and totally uncertain. It was a time of pain and struggle. That’s when you get songs like this. They come to you like a source of comfort, like a moment from the Divine. I knew that in spite of my personal world events that I was “taken care of”. That inner peace and comfort that comes to us when all else is uncertain and hard to follow. “Where do I go next?” was my hearts cry. It is a great place to be in one’s soul when one can feel the Presence and know that all is ultimately well. In fact one can even enjoy one’s time in history and know that things work out on the journey that is well followed. Since that time of great trial and uncertainty so many great and wonderful new opportunities have blossomed. I have moved past that place and one of the great lessons that suffering has produced is that confidence in being and knowing that ultimately all will be well with me.

Onto the new..! I am now working on some video footage for you! I have started to perform my new music this way. I look forward to sharing them with you soon! So many new adventures are definitely unfolding and this is truly an exciting time on the “path” !

I wish you a wonderful week and a sense of peace that is!

Lots of love and music to you:-) for now, Rachel

Happy Easter!

Good day to You! As Easter Weekend sets into motion I am full of joy really. I think of Easter as a time where faith is realized and so too in my own journey as I have learned to really stretch my self in faith and take a “flying leap”…faith then begins to emerge into reality. It’s a wonder and a wonderful thing really. To break past the mediocre and reach into the heavens and pull out a star! Anyways…so much ahead that I am looking forward too! I wish you a really rich and renewing weekend!! Lots of love and music to YOU! for now, Rachel
